DONATIONS

OCHEC is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.  Our purpose is to further the interests of home education of children by their parents or legal guardian by all lawful means in the state of Oklahoma. In this purely voluntary ministry capacity, we desire to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and encourage anyone in training his or her children “in the way they should go.” Your financial gifts are tax-deductible and will help keep this vital home education ministry operating. Your support is appreciated.

Where would you like to serve? 

Volunteer positions available:

Office Volunteer - Working in the office, typing, processing registrations, doing computer work. Needed before and after the convention. Flexible hours.

Phone Team Member – Listen to answering machine and return phone calls from your home on a rotation schedule. Currently, members are serving every other month. You need to have access to email, as this is how the phone team keeps in touch.

Capitol Day Volunteer – Help with this important event at the Capitol. Email CapitolDay@ochec.com for information.

Editorial Staff positions – Help the editor of the OCHEC Informer get the quarterly magazine ready for printing. Make phone calls, emails, research information and resources.

Convention:

 Committee Member: Plan and organize various sections of the convention. Currently, the needs are:

Volunteer Coordinator

Secretary

Program Editor

Pre-Registration Coordinator

Hospitality Coordinator (Vendors)

Other members for general help

Committee members serve at monthly meetings and need to plan to give approximately 4-6 hours per month, on the average, out side of meetings. Committee members receive admission to the convention for their family and some other nice perks for serving.


Door Monitor - Verifying that all attendees are wearing name badges signifying their registration; directing anyone without a name badge to the main registration area. May be staffed by adults and students over age 16. Shift length: one hour.

Workshop Facilitator - Making sure that all adult workshop attendees have speaker's handouts (if any); reminding participants that cell phones and radios must be silenced; recording attendance. May be staffed by adults and students over age 16. Shift length: duration of workshop.

Registration - Checking in Convention attendees who have pre-registered; Processing at-the-door registrations. May be staffed by adults and older students. Shift length: various times available.

Convention Information Booth - Checking in volunteers; providing convention information to exhibitors and attendees; maintaining the Lost & Found; supervising the bag-check area. This is an ideal position for the Convention Veteran. Must be staffed by adults only. Shift length: two hours.

Hospitality/Bag Check - Ideal position for courteous, responsible students 7th grade and older. Duties include operating the Bag Check area and doing errands (on site) as needed. Shift length: two hours.

Sound Tech – Teens who are available both days, especially during workshops, will make sure that all sound and recording equipment is functioning properly. Training will be provided.
