Informer Magazine

ARTICLE SUBMISSION

We welcome submissions on topics involving or encouraging home education. We strive for a balance of viewpoints under the authority of Scripture and according to OCHEC's purpose. We are interested in articles about any aspect of home education. Examples include a good way to teach a subject, a dramatic educational triumph, something funny that happened during school, seasonal school ideas, how you dealt with a difficult situation, or learning styles and methods. We also welcome curriculum or book reviews. All submissions will be reviewed and are subject to editing with regard to punctuation and word usage. It is highly recommended that articles be forwarded by e-mail in text format. If necessary, articles may be typed and double-spaced on one side of the paper. Be sure to proofread carefully and include your name, address, phone number, and approximate number of words in the upper left-hand corner. The preferred method of submission is by e-mail to save us the time required to type the article. If your e-mail provider permits attachments, please attach your file since we can accept most formats. Otherwise, paste your article into your e-mail message. If the article has been published previously, please identify the name and date of publication(s) in which it previously appeared. Provide any reprint permission qualifications, if available.We also welcome suggestions of other articles that you think would make good reprints. Please submit the information required to gain reprint permission along with the article.

PHOTOGRAPHS

Would you like to see someone you love on the cover of the OCHEC Informer? The Informer is looking for appealing pictures of individual students engaged in some educational pursuit, support group activities, or field trips, or other photos representative of homeschooling in Oklahoma. If you have a photo that you would like to have considered for use on the cover, please send the original to the OCHEC office with a descriptive paragraph or two about the photo. Vertical photos work best on the cover.

DEADLINES

Although we welcome all submissions, priority will be given to those items received early since space is limited. Please include your name, address, and phone number with all submitted items. We accept no submissions over the phone. We observe publication deadlines strictly. All items for OCHEC Informer magazine must be received by the following deadlines: Fall Issue - July 20th, Winter Issue - Oct 20th, Spring Issue - Jan 20th, and Summer Issue - April 20th..
